Job Listing in USA and Around The World has posted a new item, 'Distribution

Closing date: 03 Feb 2013 AMMAN, JORDAN OVERALL OBJECTIVES To manage
day-to-day operations regarding procurement and distribution in camp and urban
setting To build the capacity of DRC partner organizations for warehousing and
distribution To ensure compliance with DRC and donor guidelines BACKGROUND The
DRC has been operating in the Middle East for over a decade, running a
combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes. In
addition to the new Jordan programme, DRC has significant programmes in Iraq,
Lebanon and Syria and a Regional Office in Amman, all working on issues related
to Iraqi or Syrian displacement, as well as Palestinian and Migration issues.
Currently 95,000 Syrians have either registered in Jordan, or are waiting to do
so. The Jordanian government estimates that an additional 100,000 Syrians are
living in Jordan illegally and choosing not to register with the
authorities/UNHCR. Of this population, approximately 25,000 reside in Zaatari
refugee camp, with the remainder either being hosted by Jordanian friends and
relatives or paying commercial rent. Significant protection and shelter/NFI
issues have been identified as priorities over the coming winter months, but DRC
intends to develop a more holistic approach to the Syrian crisis- recognizing
the need to increase protection and self-reliance amongst the population whilst
reducing the impact on the hosting communities. DRC is currently implementing
