Hey Aronn
Yesterday, I promised you an
explanation, of how I am killing it with
"AdSense" in the local markets and here
is that overview. This strategy is a
perfect fit for the extremely powerful
"Dominating Local" system that I
referred to yesterday at:
I urge you to consider testing
"Dominating Locals" out, it is a very
slick system.
This is a really top level overview of
the system I use, but I am sure you will
get some great ideas from it.
1. I use registercompass.com to find
expiring and expired domains that relate
to a certain niche. I will stick with
one niche at a time, such as real
estate. This makes it easier to get the
initial content created, and blog set
up. You can look in GoDaddy domain
auctions as well.
2. I set a goal of five domains at a
time. This allows me to focus on those 5
first and then once done, I go back and
build five more.
3. Look for domains that have some
already existing links and value
according to majesticseo.com, you want
to ensure that the domain you are buying
is somewhat valuable.
4. Create custom unique content that
100% relates to what the domain used to
be about. You can figure this out by
first looking at if any google cache exists.
If not check web.archive.org. If nothing there
then look at sites linking to that domain and
what they are saying the site is about.
5. Look at the back links and see
what pages they point to and if possible (if
most point to just a couple specific pages)
create a 301 redirect that points to
your own content on that topic.
6. Set up AutoTrafficBuddy and
AutoSocialBuddy. If you don't have
access to autotrafficbuddy.com, which
gives you access to both autotrafficbuddy
and the powerful autosocialbuddy, then you
can set up a ping.fm account and
Hootsuite.com account and have it so
every time a new post is made on your
site, it updates pingfm (through
hootsuite) and auto bookmarks. This is
not nearly as effective as autotrafficbuddy
and autosocialbuddy but still works very
well.
Note: you can try and add your rss feed
directly into PingFm but their built in
rss system is very unreliable.
7. Submit the blogs rss feed to a
few rss directories
8. Submit a press release about the
reopening of the blog
9. Do not do any other promotion for
a couple of weeks to let the blog get
completely spidered and re-indexed in
Google.
10. Set up "Dominating Local" on the
blog to start adding the content (this
will also get auto promoted from step 6)
11. After 2 weeks, start promoting with
things like blog networks, such as
traffickaboom.com and other strategies
that will build back links.
12. After 4 weeks, add Adsense and
other revenue strategies (not before
that, this is crucial to ensure your
blog gets the best results possible).
IMPORTANT:
The initial unique content of the blog
must relate to the original domain's
content as much as possible. This is to
help ensure that the blog retain its
previous page rank value.
After 4 weeks, you can start adding some
affiliate review content and promotion
content. Nevertheless, make sure you
properly mask your affiliate links.
One other VERY effective revenue
strategy with these sites too, is once
they start ranking well for the local
terms, incorporate advertising so you
can sell advertising, which will be of
huge interest to competing businesses.
Create a post on your blog that explains
how they can advertise on your site and
put a banner on the site saying,
"Advertise Here" and link it to the
post.
I personally use openx.com on my own server.
This does take a bit to get used to and
there are other options, but the nice
thing about this system is once you get
a few sites in here you can start really
taking advantage of their internal
network.
There you have it :) Go and get yourself
a copy of "Dominating Local" and get
started with this powerful strategy.
