Natural Repellent for Mosquito

  1. Lemon eucalyptus oil
  2. DIY by taking 1 part lemon eucalyptus oil and 10 part sunflower oil and make a mixture of it.

  3. Lavender
  4. DIY by crushing lavender flower and apply the oil to bite sensitive areas of the body. As like ankles and arms. Drop some lavender oil on a clean, soft cloth and rub it into the skin.

  5. Cinnamon oil
  6. DIY by taking 1 percent solution, mix or 24 drops or 1/4 teaspoon of oil for every 4 ounces of water. Be careful when applying cinnamon oil.

  7. Thyme oil
  8. DIY by combining four drops of thyme oil to every teaspoon of base oil.

  9. Greek catnip oil
  10. The oil from the plant could repel mosquitoes efficiently for two to three hours.

  11. Soybean oil
  12. The home mixture of Soybean oil and lemongrass is tested to guard against different species of mosquitos.

  13. Citronella
  14. Citronella is an essential oil that works a natural and effective against mosquitoes. When outdoors, citronella candles can provide up to 50 percent extra protection.

  15. Tea tree oil
  16. Tea tree oil is also known as melaleuca oil, is a favorite essential oil from Australia. This oil is known for its antibiotic, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory characteristics. But recent studies also suggest that tea tree oil may be a useful insect repellent.

  17. Geraniol
  18. It is a type of alcohol used as a perfume or flavor. It is from plant oils like rose, citronella, and lemongrass. As an element in mosquito repellent, it is known to be active for two to four hours, depending on the varieties or species.

  19. Neem oil
  20. Although neem oil is promoted as a natural option, there are mixed results about its effectiveness. A recent study about the efficacy of neem oil in Ethiopia found that it offered more than 70 percent protection for three hours.
